Ben has not been sleeping well for the last few days. No naps, going to bed too late - you know. Well by the time Sunday rolled around he was just exhausted (as were we) and decided to give up and sleep. He woke up around 7:00, but when I picked him up from his crib and took him in our room he decided to join in a Sunday morning nap. We all slept until 9:00! It was fabulous. Seriously quite the treat.
I tried to sneak a couple of pictures before Ben and Cam woke up. I didn't use the flash so they're kind of dark.

This is Ben before church. He just looked so handsome, I couldn't help but take a picture. Cam was all upset though. Something about being late for church (again).

Danger Zone
Ben spends a lot of time over at his Aunt Lou's house and he knows exactly how to get in trouble there. This week Ben tipped over the cat food and helped himself. Yum. The kid won't eat baby food to save his life, but he was downing cat food like it was his last meal.
This is Ben after the fact. I believe he is still gumming cat food at this point. I later fished it out of his mouth.
Ben also had a run in with the fire. He is a total pyro and is fully obsessed with the fire. Laura took her eye off him for a minute and he got his hand up against the fireplace, resulting in blistered knuckles. They're actually looking more healed at this point. Thankfully, he didn't get burned too badly. Things could have been a lot worse.
Ben also pulled the kitty's tail and she swiped at him, so he has some cat scratches on his arm to boot. Geez. This kid is going to give me gray hair. I foresee emergency room visits and broken bones. I'm bracing myself.

House Update
One of the other really cool things about our house is that it is so close to the temple. I'm not sure how long it will be before the temple is done. My guess is that it will probably be a couple years, but when it is done, we're going to have awesome temple views.
Here's the view from the temple to our house.
And since we were in picture taking mode, here's a picture of my parents' house where we're living right now.

Sunday Morning
Ben turned 10 months yesterday. I can't believe it. He's becoming such a big boy. He is really into standing recently, but he's not as skilled as his cousin Lizzy, who is a month younger and has been "free standing" for a while now. Ben usually pulls himself up to standing and then freaks out because he can't figure out how to get back down.
In addition to Ben turning 10 months yesterday, our ward split. The wards in Daybreak are huge. I think we were well over 900 for our ward membership and sacrament meeting attendance was usually around 700. Going to church in a ward that size is absolutely crazy and disorienting. So frankly we are relieved to see the ward split.
Ben was looking especially dapper yesterday before church (as was his daddy), so we had to take a few pictures.

My handsome (and tired) boys.

Our house is a very, very, very fine house
We are supposed to close on our house next month. Yikes! I'm SO not ready to move again. This will be our third move in 6 months. I don't recommend moving at all while you and your husband are both in grad school and you have an infant. Moving three times is just insane.
Anyway, our house is shaping up quite nicely. Don't ask me what the plastic sheeting is about. It was covering the whole house for a while, but it's mostly down now that they are beginning to paint. I'm anxious to see what the house will look like once it's fully painted, especially since it has been in this half painted state for about a week now. I feel like the painters are teasing me.
Here's the line up of the "painted ladies." I really like the green one next door to us. You can see the cute park that will basically be our front yard. It doesn't look too inviting this time of year though.

Fashion Forward
For some reason I decided to take a 7:30 class this semester. Yeah, I know. And because Daybreak is conveniently located an hour's drive away from campus (factoring in morning traffic) I have to leave early. Way too early. So Cam is usually the one who gets Ben ready in the morning. Granted, Ben is way squirmy, and getting him dressed is no easy task, but how could you not notice that his pants were on backward!
This is not the first time Cam has put Ben's clothes on backward. He has managed to put on onesies backward as well. Seriously. Laura was amused by his outfit and didn't want to change a thing, so this is how I found him when I came to pick him up.
I know this picture is on its side, but it's so cute, it's worth cocking your head in a weird way to view it.

Bouncy Boo
Ben is a huge fan of his bouncer. Early on we could tell that Ben was going to enjoy jumping. We bought him this bouncer at around 4 months old, but because he is such a little guy he wasn't heavy enough to really start using it until he was about 6 months old. At this point it is definitely a favorite toy.
Look at these chunky legs!
An action shot.
